This article potentially explains a lot about the problems and political instability in the U.S.

Glenn Beck, Christians and Mormons - Pew Research Center

It would be incorrect to state that "most" Christians do not view Mormonism as a Christian religion. A 2007 survey by the Pew Research Center reported that a majority of Catholics (52%) say that Mormons are Christian; 29% say they are not. Among all Protestants, more say Mormonism is a Christian religion than say it is not by a 49%-to-34% margin. This includes 62% of white mainline Protestants who say Mormons are Christians.

Of the major Christian groups, white evangelical Protestants are the most likely to say Mormonism is not a Christian religion: 45% say Mormons are not Christians, while 40% say they are Christians.

For many in DFW this is a good thing. At least for now we will retain the Rangers as our baseball team of choice.

Nolan Ryan-Chuck Greenberg Group Wins Texas Rangers Bid

A group led by Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan early today won the bidding for the bankrupt Texas Rangers.

The packed courtroom in Fort Worth erupted in cheers and a standing ovation when Ryan's group was announced.

Ryan and sports attorney Chuck Greenberg won with a $593 million bid, including $385 in cash, surviving a bid from billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Houston businessman Jim Crane.

The confirmation hearing on the bankruptcy plan is scheduled for today. Final approval of the Rangers sale rests with MLB, which had endorsed the Ryan deal.

the king shall do according to his will

I posted Daniel 11:36-45 (AKJV) a few days ago, (1) to see what reaction I would get, and (2) to prompt some thinking on peoples part. I have now divided the passage up into paragraphs for the same reason. The first paragraph includes verse 36 and 37 which describe some of the characteristics of the man of sin, the ultimate example of a world leader. I do not call this person the antichrist as that would be going outside the context. All we know is that Daniel is giving us a description of a world leader, may even be a description of most world leaders to some degree - just this one takes the characteristics to the maximum degree.  I will be adding more on recurring basis - but I am also interested in others opinion.

Example: "magnify himself above every god" -- has our president done that: "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values." Interesting blog on this statement: http://tpo.net/Christian/index.htm

a tyranny sincerely exercised

by admin Email

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies, The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

C.S. Lewis (1889-1963)
